Charles Hamrell , M.D., F.A.C.O.G. (emeritus) Charles Hamrell, M. D. is a graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine and he did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Hamrell is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed advanced training in Gynecological Oncology and General Surgery at the City of Hope Medical Center. Dr. Hamrell is a well known surgeon and has had extensive postgraduate training in gynecologic laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, laser surgery, advanced hysteroscopic surgery, and gynecologic urology procedures. Dr. Hamrell started in private practice in 1977 and founded Women’s Healthcare Associates. He is a Visiting Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Hamrell is an active staff member at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center, Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, and the Surgery Center of Santa Monica. He was Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the Family Practice Residency at Santa Monica-UCLA Hospital from 1978-1985, served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1984-1991, and was elected Chief of the Medical Staff for 1988 and again for 1989. Dr. Hamrell served on the Board of Trustees for Santa Monica-UCLA Hospital from 1986-1990. He has been a recipient of the award for Outstanding Clinical Teacher by the Family Practice Residency at the Santa Monica-UCLA Hospital.
